BRAUN

via Artus Interactive

Together with our long-time partner Artus Interactive, we have revamped the braun.com website and the many local versions.

Braun is a recognized name under P&G. Their website is active in 26 countries, each with a local version. Under the same brand, you will find different layouts, culturally-aware content, information in the local languages and a different business approach for each country.

Our task: maintaining a cohesive brand

A company like P&G needs a good overview of their many websites and a centralized point of action. They also need to maintain their brand within the same cohesive line. P&G’s online presence is a huge undertaking that requires coordination of multiple teams in multiple countries.

Our lean & mean (re-)implementation of structure

Braun had a large number of components developed locally. We reduced the large number of wild elements to a more limited, manageable one.

We gathered all the features developed locally and cataloged them. We decided which components expressed the brands and created the best user experience. Based on those, we redeveloped a great set of unique parts that local websites would operate on. Our solution maintains a cohesive brand and grants the company a great deal of control over the product.

Built-in reusability

After consolidating the Canadian master website, all the local versions were deployed successfully. We used the REACT NEXt.js framework to create a new components library that makes it easier to create and deploy pages with pixel-perfect brand styling. Behind the website stands a structure that makes sense and creates coordination for a company present in 26 countries.

  • We lowered the number of failures (errors) to almost zero. Websites don’t break, which saves maintenance efforts and costs.

  • We improved the speed and performance of the websites. Our websites consistently score very high on Google for speed (100/100 on desktop versions and 90 to 100/100 on mobile).

  • We streamlined implementation for the creative team. We created a modular components library that allows Braun to launch elements faster and with impeccable quality.

Our unique approach: thinking about development in smaller steps

Currently, we changed the focus for Braun, towards continuous improvement of the website, in smaller work cycles.

Instead of redeveloping their website every year or two, we work on it continuously. The workload and costs for the company are the same, but the workload spreads out over a longer time frame. Websites become more manageable. They look, feel and perform better all the time instead of gradually decaying and feeling obsolete for most of their lifespan.

A partnership that continues to grow and deliver outstanding results

We built a great relationship with P&G, through our partner Artus Interactive. We are now the highest-rated development team that works on their projects. We continue to handle some of their best work, including the “Braun 100 years” anniversary website and their Services system, which offers support in 26 languages for 104 countries.
