On the rocks. Redesign, down to architecture
Cocktails.de is a content-heavy site, with tens of thousands of cocktail recipes and galleries. It required a re-platforming, going from full Drupal to headless Drupal back end and next.js front end.
With a modular architecture (and headless content management system), we keep the technology layer, content and design in different silos. When the client needs to make design or technology changes, they don’t require content migration. If they find new ways to use their content, they can do it without reauthoring their recipes. Content is simply poured into the new website design.
A digital fanzine that engages visitors
Incorporating more community-oriented functions was an important shift for the website. With the new update, users can create their own cocktail recipes and submit them to the site for approval.
Content is fluid, especially when created by users of your platform. When visitors add content to your website, it becomes difficult to keep the layout consistent. You care about preserving your brand and protecting the website from inappropriate material. We built a tailored solution for their unique scenarios.
Once the drinks pass muster, they will be made available online. If they aren’t authorized, they only appear to the user who uploaded them, once they’re logged in. This is a feat that builds relationships and allows a great deal of ownership for visitors.
A dive into new and creative recipes
A great content management system allows you to create a great navigational system. With Cocktails.de, we organized the data and implemented a tagging system. It offers visitors an intuitive way to search for specific drinks or filter based on ingredients.
