Content Migration For a Leading European Health Brand
CamelWeb was contracted by the French division of a global healthcare brand — part of one of the world’s largest consumer goods groups — to handle an extensive content migration. Focused on plant-based medicinal products, this project involved transitioning hundreds of French-language product pages and articles from a legacy CMS to a new digital platform.
Executed over 3 to 6 months, the project required automation, manual validation, and close collaboration under evolving client direction. We were tasked with ensuring accuracy, improving content quality, and delivering a seamless transition.
Objectives and Scope
The client aimed to move from a fragmented web presence to a centralised, modern platform that would:
Consolidate product and editorial content
Improve user experience and branding consistency
Ensure accuracy and content integrity
Simplify future updates through modern CMS tools
They preferred a fast lift-and-shift migration, with adjustments post-transfer — a method we adapted to, despite recommending a phased approach.
Our Adapted Method
CamelWeb proposed a best-practice migration process:
1 - Automated content extraction and audit
2 - Normalisation and error correction
3 - Content injection into the new framework
4 - Manual QA and validation
Though structured, this process was adjusted to accommodate the client’s request for early content injection followed by fixes. This added complexity and required us to adapt resourcing, QA flow, and team coordination.
Key Challenges
Legacy Issues: Inherited grammar, formatting, and content structure problems were fixed.
Non-linear QA: Testing in live staging created coordination overhead.
Workflow Flexibility: We introduced version-controlled logs and real-time feedback to manage change requests.
Hybrid Automation & QA
Using custom scripts, we extracted and mapped content into the new CMS. Each batch underwent human review to check:
Language and tone accuracy
Brand and formatting consistency
SEO metadata and media integrity
This dual approach enabled efficient scaling without sacrificing quality.
Quality Control
We owned the validation process:
Side-by-side legacy vs. new comparisons
Link and asset verification
Content sign-off by our team
Our motto — “when we say it’s done, it’s done” — meant clients weren't required to double-check.
Security and Compliance
ISO 27001-certified workflows
Controlled access and secure handling
Cross-functional coordination with marketing, legal, and IT
Sensitive data and internal processes were treated with confidentiality throughout.
